Structured Family Caregiver

Georgia is committed to improving access to community care and families that deliver care at home.


Are you caring for a family member at home?

You may be eligible for the Structured Family Caregiver program. This program is available thru the Georgia Medicaid Elderly and Disabled Waiver program. If you live with the family member you are caring for and he or she is eligible for Medicaid in the state of Georgia, you may qualify.

This program offers you:


A tax-free financial stipend
Ongoing support from a professional health coach
Access to a secure mobile app, AloraPlus to connect you
with your health coach

Family Caregiving service provides support to family caregivers who live with and assist an elderly and/or disabled waiver participant requiring significant assistance with activities of daily living. Eligibility for this service option is contingent on there being a live-in, unpaid family caregiver in the home and an assessed need for a minimum of five hours of personal support service daily. The Structured Family Caregiving service provides ongoing telephonic or electronic support to the family caregiver by a Health Coach and review of daily notes submitted by the caregiver reporting changes or concerns about the elderly and/or disabled adult's condition.
